hi

im going to be calling ford after the new year to book the car in to get the arch fixed and get the steering creak seen to aswell and i want a car for the day aswell when its being sorted not being without a car :)

Hi there,

I have a 11 plate Titanium and it developed the creak through the steering - more of a notchy feeling as you turn the wheel at slow speeds - i took mine to the local Sandicliffe when they were looking at the whining noise from the clutch and the technician said its normal on the cars. Its the power assistance at low speeds and you are just feeling the motor.

Not sure if your creak is the same as my notchyness.... its is loud, but i'm not fussed anymore.

I did read that the steering column can be greased but this is only a short term fix. This is what some dealers do.

Creaky steering will be the top strutt mountings (part of the suspension) see the other thread on here about it.Ford have redesigned the part now. Its taken me 3 months to get mine sorted. The selling dealer told me to turn up the radio and forget about it after they could not diagnose the problem. My 2011 Titanium started creaking after 2 months and 1500 miles. All sorted now though. Not sure where you are but WBM Ford in Wool, Dorset can sort it for you. I gave up on my main selling dealer in Poole who couldn't diagnose it after 4 visits. All they could do was lubricate.
