Engine Coolant

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a Fiesta Titanium 1.4 automatic, which I have been driving since the beginning of June. When I was filling up my screenwash this morning, I noticed that the engine coolant level was way below the Min line.

My friends are telling me that its really unusual that I would need to top up the coolant after only 6 months (I've done 8500 miles), but none of them are Fiesta drivers.

How often do people usually have to top-up their coolant? And do I just pop off the cap and pour the coolant in (like i do with the screenwash), or is there more to it than that?

This is my first car, so any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi I dont think you should have to top up anything after 6 months so I would get your car to Ford and ask them to look at it

they may top it up for free then if it still reqs top in 6 months time you have told them of prob;in good time.

IMO this is not normal.

There's something wrong there, coolant should never be consumed. If it's the 2011 car in your profile then it's still under warranty so just take it in to any dealer and get them to have a look at it, any problems should be fixed free of charge.
