Fiesta Mk7 Listen To Music Iphone4 Help!!

Featured Replies

Hi all

Owner of a lovely Fiesta Zetec registered in Jan 2011 and am not very technical at all!

I need to know - in SIMPLE terms - how to listen to the music I have on my Iphone 4 through my car stereo.

Do I need a cable or do I do it through Bluetooth?

As I say, I'm NOT technically minded at all..

Many thanks all.

Simples.

Activate bluetooth on your phone

Press 'Phone' on your stereo and it will have 3 options I think, bluetooth on, select phone and something else.

Make sure bluetooth is on in your car, select your phone in the display and it will ask you to type a code on your phone to pair the two devices.

Once that is done press 'Aux' on your stereo and then just press 'Play' on your iphone and the music will start playing through the car :) When you receive a bluetooth call too it pauses the music

Will make sense once your doing it.

WOW!!

Impressed with that speedy reply!

Think my Son tried this but it didn't work, couldn't hear the music.

I have already paired it up for answering calls etc....

I'll give it another try shortly..

Thanks....

Do you have Bluetooth & USB on your Fiesta or only Bluetooth?

I have bluetooth, but how would i know if i also have USB? You mean the USB port? Yes I have one of them..

I haven't connected my phone to car via any cables tho. Do i need to do that??

I was just checking because you can only stream music to your stereo using Bluetooth if you have USB as well (though you don't need to use the USB port)

When your phone is connected using Bluetooth and you press AUX button on the stereo what happens?

Hi

Nothing happens when I press the AUX button, the radio in the car just continues to play....

I'm sure I'm just doing something really simple wrongly!!

As in the radio/CD keeps playing?

Pressing AUX once should change it to BT mode (looks like a symbol of a radar on screen) and starts playing from the phone.

If it's still not working try downloading & following update instructions from here. (USB stick required)

OK I will give that a try, and let you know.

Thanks very much for your continued help. it's much appreciated.... :D

Did you unzip the files before putting them on the USB stick? There should be a few (around 20?) files on there rather than just 1 file that ends .zip

Also, make sure that the files on the USB stick are .MP3 files.

The car won't understand .M4A files and you will need to download some software to convert them to be able to listen to them in the car.

You don't need to convert anything, I believe rojariggs's was referring to types of music file you can play.

As long as you have unzipped all the files and put them on the root of the USB stick (ie the first thing you see when opening the USB, E:\ and NOT in folders) plug it in and turn key to position 2.

Ah i see. Well the files are the only thing on the usb stick & ive been turning the key to II & it still says no files on device :(. Ill try take them off the stick & put them back on again see if that works?

Mucked about with it for like an hour but ive officially given up :P

Went into the properties of each file and it was all on read only, changed that and at least now my car recongnises there is files on the usb, but it simly says "update starting" then imediately "Update failed. please restart." which i tried to do countless times, think ill just need to try get ford to do it for me. :/

Yeah, my bad. I was thinking you were trying to play music off the USB stick. For what you're doing, ignore what I said...
