Fittings For The Car Mats On Fiesta Mk7

Featured Replies

Hi

Hubby just bought himself the Fiesta metal (lovely car BTW!!) anyway they threw me in a set of mats for my Fiesta Zetec Mk 7, but I don't know how to actually 'fit' the driver side mat as it has two holes at the top, but they dont seem to match up with any holes in my carpet? Also, am i supposed to buy some kind of fitting to keep them in place?

Hubby is useless with things like this!!

Thanks all

PS. Also thinking of getting some rear parking sensors fitted to mine. Ford quoted me £250 plus £35 to paint to same colour as car. Is this good, and will they be exactly the same as the 'factory fitted' ones?

Mine just had 2 little holes at the bottom of the mat (the closest bit to the drivers seat) and it just popped into those and doesn't move about.

Take them back to your dealer, when I got my ones they asked me for the model year as apparently there are two different types of mats. IIRC one with holes at the bottom and the other set had no holes.

You can get the clips from a ford dealer.

Easier than getting new mats and they actually are very secure, as they wobble about a lot without!!

You need two, are about 4.80 from a dealer.

Depends how old your Mk7 is. My new ZS has got little plastics studs in the carpet just in front of the drivers seat that the new mats fit into. My previous Mk7 ZS had little plastic brackets coming forwards from under the seat with little bits at the end to fit into the mats. I've had to buy new front mats as my old mats wouldn't fit the new style of bracket/clip (different spacing of holes). So now I've two front mats going spare!

If you don't have the little clips in the carpet then I think you'll need the old style mats (which I assume would come with any clips needed). In this case I'd do as Scotty86 suggests and go back to your dealer and see if they'll exchange them for the appropriate ones.

i recently got some carpet mats for my 2011 zetec s with the plastic studs on the carpet and the holes on the rubber mats ford fit to it dont line up but the rubber stretchs to fit. but the carpet doesnt stretch so you have to put your hand through the flap in the footwell to the chassis number and lift the carpet then just put the matt on the studs. took a bit of fiddling about to figure it out

when i got my car in march, the mats that came with it didnt fit, they had slightly changed them, without advising the dealer. anyway, the dealer ordered me new ones, which fit perfectly.. so the new and correct ones are out there
