  • You should now have a bulb socket for the second reverse light with a red and black cable spliced on to the rear of it, with just enough length to attach it to the exiting reverse loom,

  • For those who may be interested in doing this on the mk2, heres a few tips/pointers, Its almost the same as the mk2.5 just a few suttle differences with where the holes need to be drilled out etc.. S

  • I've just ordered all the pieces for this mod including the connectors suggested by troy45 i will be attempting this next weekend fingers crossed it goes well, plus the drl's are on order.

cool that will do me so much red thanks for the pics they greatlooks like I will go with the whites as well

No prob,

Here's a link to the latest genuine cree reverse bulbs three times brighter than cree Q5

I must put up a video aswell,

I fitted a relay to the rear red fog light,

If the red fog is switched on,

And i put car in reverse,

The red bulb automatically switch's off

While reverse is active,

So red and white never shine together :)

do you have a link for the relay you used

do you have a link for the relay you used

I purchased mine from a company called GenLabs, standard auto off drl relay

Sadly they have gone out of business, but any drl auto off relay will do,

See link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DRL-Daytime-Running-Light-Relay-Harness-Auto-Car-Control-On-Off-Switch-/140866439036?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item20cc4b477c

Cut feed leading to fog light,

Connect feed input to relay,

Attach ends feeding to fog bulb as drl outputs,

Splice sensor feed to reverse positive,

Job done,

When the relay feels power in the sensor feed it stops power flowing through itself,

Yeah its more than sufficient mate,

The amps flowing through the cable wont increase by using bigger cable,

It will be just the same,

great thanks mate :)

Lots of stuff to read there, so maybe it's been mentioned but  has anyone added a rear fog in the centre of the bumper rather than having it in with the reverse lamp?

Not on this thread no;

But it wouldn't be difficult even splice a new feed inside the boot plastic boot panel rather than outside the vehicle; leave the stock one active just remove the bulb.

That's how I would do it anyway 🤷‍♂️

I've decided to try doing this  again but still not able to get hold of the additional wiring plug (or a complete second hand unit with plug).

Is there a part number in order to get one from Ford or so I can cross reference a pattern part?

If you can get hold of "ford etis" software you would find the number and image of the part; I once had the software; hopefully someone can advise;

Or a breakers locally or through Ebay; have you tried contacting a breakers?

If they cut the loom inside the boot and provide you with the rubber grommet and loom plug attached;

I cant Invision that loom being somthing they would normally be able to sell to anyone as it's not part of the reverse unit or fog unit and it's not part of the rear bumper; it's just a plug on the end of a wire which feeds from the gear box;

It probably gets crushed along with the chassis;

I'd try contacting breakers on ebay; theres one breaker has a few ST breaking, if you search for focus st breaking; then contact the seller as for the rubber grommet with fog light or reverse light loom plug attached;

Please cut the loom inside the boot panel then provide me with the section which remains

Consisting of some loom, rubber grommet and a plug on the end which goes in to the fog light or reverse light housing.

There ya go; "copy&paste" that to the Ebay breakers 👍
