Titanium Spec Questions

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm thinking about buying a Fiesta, possibly a used 1.6TDCi Titanium. I have a few questions about the changing specs of these, if anyone is able to answer them that would be great...

When did the Sony stereo become standard? Also, when was DAB added as standard, was this at the same time as the 1.6 TDCi Titanium became the Titanium Econetic?

Is there a way to tell from the chassis number which model year the car is?

Thanks for any help!

Sony stereo was added late 2010. DAB was added summer 2011.

AFAIK the Econectic engine was an option alongside the "full fat" 1.6 TDCI.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply. The only 1.6 TDCi i see available currently is the Econetic version. Were the 1.6 TDCi standard and Econetic versions sold side by side for a while?

Ideally i'd like a non-Econetic version as I can't stand the small wheels. I wonder if you can get the standard DAB on a non-Econetic?

These are build dates, not registration dates -

From March 2010:

  • SONY audio standard
  • 90PS (Euro-4 Diesel) became 95PS DPF (Euro-5 Diesel)
  • All TDCI engines have "shift up" light

From July 2011:

  • Launch of Titanium Econetic TDCI (Econetic as a brand rather than a model, similar concept to Bluemotion Technologies from VW)
  • Titanium Econetic increases economy by adding smaller wheels and a few other bits
  • All new orders come free with DAB radio upgrade.

From Sept 2011:

  • Free DAB upgrade offer ends
  • Discontinued Titanium TDCI leaving only Econetic version

so basically if you want a DAB but non-econetic, you need to find one built between July 2011 and Sept 2011 B)

That's great info, thanks.

Basically, any 95bhp 1.6 TDCi Titanium should have the Sony stereo? This should make finding one a lot easier.

I might have to do without the DAB though, c'est la vie!

Aw my car is May 2011! Missed out on DAB by 2 months lol :P
