Here are some images of my engine,

i took them when i was cleaning once, so they were not taken for the purpose of finding the boost pipe,

i will get to the car later and take more detailed images of pipes etc.

If you want to keep an eye on the thread..

Consensus of opinion seems to be taping into the intercooler pipe, pre-intercooler... So inbetween the turbo and IC...

i saw that mate,

some guy has created a T pipe for the intercooler induction pipe, but this would cause vacume on the line also i cant see it being as accurate as tapping in to a pipe that is the same size as the boost pipe itself. which has been done on the 1.8 models

so... if i'm reading it right... anywhere from the red arrow downwards...

Ok mate, ill keep asking... On the 1.8 there was a pipe from the intercooler pipe to the GT1749 turbo, (I know this cox when i cleaned my EGR i took it off, forgot to put it back and ended up without a turbo lol) But i'm not sure if the GT1544 that we have has this.. ill do some more digging lol!

is it a no no to tap in to the pipe that feeds to the boost sensor for the ecu ?

is this in the arrow a boost pipe ?

STGaugeFitting1.jpg

however if this is not an option with my 1.6TDCi then i will tap in to the incuction elbow with one the these Click Here

Thats the pipe i left off when i cleaned my EGR.... lol

I thought i'd broken my turbo!

Youve got the 1.6 110 havent u? same as mine? ill whip my engine cover off later and have a butchers...

The 1.6 90 Fiesta has a different turbo to us, so the above may still be possible...

very embarresing momment now

cheers Dave, ill tap in to the induction elbow with one of these mate Click Here i can fit it to the under side of the elbow for cosmetic reasons then cable tie it along the front of the sub frame up past the battery and in through a grommet in the passenger footwell,

If you wouldnt mind having a look for at yours for me mate that would be fantastic,

so as im 100% sure im fitting the best way possible and yes we both have the same engine but my engine cover is in the attic lol

it didnt come as standard and ive to buy a mounting kit from ford lol

look foward to hearing from you later mate,

cheers B)

Lol its ok Lenny.

I didnt take offence to any of your posts mate, dont worry lol!

That pipe is actually tapped by ford, to feed the EGR i believe... its what happens when a 30 year old engine design keeps getting modified and changed as technology improves lol!

LOL!!

Let me guess, the mounting kit that consists of a few bolts costs a fortune from ford lol

 no problem mate,

pitty i cant just go out and open my bonnet at the momment ive got to remove a wire rope, pad lock and 2 straps by lying on the ground then fold up the cover,

before i can open the bonnet,

then seal it all up again, i wouldnt mind but its been raining all day and i dont want to get soaked from lying on the ground to open the straps and lock

so if you could have a look at yours for me and if you find anything that i can get a boost reading from, instead of using the induction elbow that would be fantastic mate.

eh £27 last time i was with them

i was thinking of color coding the engine cover and painting the TDCI bit red and black at some stage before fitting

also color code the fuse box lid and air box lid, maybe leave the lid of the battery box as it is or spray it matt black

then either blue or red hoses

Will do mate, i have a half hour break between shows today so ill do it then... be about an hour before i get back to you on it.
