Mk7 Sqeaking At Low Speeds

Featured Replies

I have noticed at very low speeds either pulling away or almost stopping a highish pitched squeaking coming from the front wheels i think, anyone any ideas what this could be?

Brake pads dragging most likely - does it go away when you press the brake pedal?

Its nothing serious, just annoying. Can be solved by removing corrosion and brake dust build-up from the callipers and pads.

I've heard of Ford fixing it under warranty if they drag enough, but we're it has to be enough that its actually stopping the wheels rotating properly.

Possible as a DIY job, but only if you know what you're doing (this is the brakes after all!) otherwise another reputable garage should be able to do it in half an hour.

Thought it would be something like sticking breaks etc, will try to get into garage.
