Gear Change Problem

Looking for advice/help. Have 58 fiesta zetec and having major issues/ difficulties changing gears when the car heats up. I am finding it almost impossible to select gears. It is variable from really stiff gear changes to not being able to select any gear. The problem becomes worse if the heating is on. Becoming a little scary to drive but not sure what is wrong and don't want to get bumped by garage. Car was services and MOT'd only few months ago. Please help!! Someone!

    It could be a bent selector bar in the gearbox. As it warms up it expands and becomes more problematic.

    Google Fiesta stiff gear change.
