I have recently purchased a Fiesta Zetec, when I turn the fans on to warm the car the air con automatically comes on. Is there a reason for this? is it normal? and is there anyway to stop this?

    It does that when the blower is set to the windscreen - the reason being the car thinks you're setting it to the screen to clear it, and aircon helps with that. The only way to stop it is turn the dial to one click before the screen so it doesn't come on.

    Exactly which part of the Zetec's air do you think is a con or rip off? (Sorry, couldn't resist ;))

    As said above, you've got the blowers pointed at the windscreen, turn the dial anti-clockwise 1 click to resolve this :)
