Hi everyone, just a quickie, does anyone know if the window on the passenger's side can be set up to have "one touch" operation?

I think that it's the actual switch that does this function rather than software so, without a custom switch, I think it unlikely that you can do this.

Hi

As far as i am aware it is drivers side only.

Mine is a zetec s and only works on drivers side

no, the left hand regulator doesn't support anti-trap, to start with

your best bet if you really wanted to do this would be to somehow source a LHD regulator and switch assy, but wiring it in might prove tricky.

Always wondered why it was designed like this , its such a pain having to hold down the button, Most of the time I used to get in my car after work to find my windows misted up a bit , so I one touch my drivers side to clear it and then have to hold down the passenger button to clear that side and it does'nt help that its very slow open/close.

Bad design!

Always wondered why it was designed like this

Could be , would'nt of thought Fords would be that skint to make both front windows operate by one touch , my focus does both sides , should be standard.

The driver's window on my Focus only does one-touch down which is a pain! Why not up too? The Fiesta and Focus are such user friendly cars in most other aspects so I can't understand it!

Thanks everyone for your replies, looks like I'll have to live with it.

It's not about being skint!

Every penny on every car has to be accounted for. Lots of little savings add up to a lot per car that in turn adds up to a lot per production line. Things like one shot lowering on the pax window, carpet on the rear of the back seat, a rod to hold up the bonnet instead of a gas strut, etc etc. If they can save £5 per item (made up figure!) on 20 items on each Fiesta that's £100 cost saving/profit. They build 1 million Fiestas and that's £100 million in the bank.

Sometimes they look at it from the other side and that £100 per car helps gets the price down to a figure that the marketing department want to hit (say £9995, for example).

Each item will be costed and then evaluated against how marketable and how necessary it is. Someone then decides what goes in and what gets left out...
