Whirry Focus Auto!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

This is a long shot I know, but here we go.I have a Focus 1 auto,03 reg,1.6 zetec with only 13,000 miles done.Ever since we have had it,it has had a strange constant whirring noise from the engine(?).I got my local indy to look at it some time ago when he changed the cambelt and he demonstrated that the noise was still there with the auxiliary belt off.His conclusion was that it may be from the camshafts and could improve if some mileage was put on it.The original supplying Ford dealer has also suggested this.

Nobody seems to have a real clue with this, are some of the zetec engines known to be inherrently whirry?

Cheers......Phil.
