Fiesta Freestyle 1.2 Alarm

Featured Replies

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if a Y Reg Fiesta Freestyle 1.2 has an alarm as standard or not. The manual seems to say it does but am not sure how to activate it to see if mine has one or not

Chris

Do you have a 3 button fob. If so hitting the lock buttontwice causes the hazards to flash twice and alarm should be active

No i just have a standard keys without the fob buttons. I guest it does not have an alarm then but it has central locking using the key

When you turn the key to lock the car if you turn the key twice in the lock direction the car should double lock :)

Not sure if you can activate a alarm using a normal key. I seem to recall hazards flashing twice to show alarm is active when you do the second turn . (again this is assuming you have an alarm fitted).

Easiest way is to open your bonnet without unlocking the doors.

You'll soon know if you have an alarm then.

To silence the alarm unlock the doors with a remote key or if you only have a passive key - open doors and put key in ignition and turn to position 2.

Dont think there is an alarm fitted. Tried the double turn and no indicators flash.

Does the Fiesta have a factory fitted immobiliser as on my insurance i put it had no alarm or immobiliser fitted.

Chris

Do you have a flashing light on your dash when the cars turned off ?

If so you will have an immobiliser.

I'm pretty sure you will have a factory fitted PATS system.

Yes i do have a flashing red LED next to the clock when i lock the car up.

Can anyone confirm if its a standard factory fitted PATS system. If so i might be able to reduce my insurance by a few ££

How can i tell if it has the factory fitted PATS system.

DO people put this down on there insurance as having this fitted

Chris

It is the standard Ford factory fitted PATS2 Immobiliser.

Don't know how much of a difference it will make to your premiums but definitely worth telling them.
