Mk6.5 Aux Issue

Featured Replies

Hi,

when i have the music playing through the aux its fine but when changing gear mainly into first it cuts out certain speakers,

any ideas on a quick fix?

i gather a lose wire.

Thanks

Sean

Could be problems with interference being picked up through the aux cable.

Try fitting a ferrite core to the wire.

I was getting interference on my aux that sounds like a high pitched turbo when in low revs (as in first to third gear changing).

One of these stopped it dead.

Also worth checking the loom and connector to the radio in case it's not seated correctly.

ok thanks for the quick reply dont think it is to do with the turbo because it happens when the engine is not running but still change gears.

thanks

sean

my other half's 6.5 ST had this exact fault!!!

the connector on the back of the aux socket comes loose easily

lift up your gear gaiter and i bet it's loose, just push it back in place and duck tape it :)
