Focus '09 Econetic Engine Cutting Out Help

Featured Replies

I have had my EcoMonster for about 14 months.

About a year ago I went on a drive from Leicester to London and when I arrived in Heathrow and dropped down a gear the engine cut out.

Since then I have done some fairly long trips include a drive to Edinburgh via a tour around the Lake District, never had the issue again.

Today on my way back from work (50 motorway miles), I got off the motorway after about 2 miles of very slow traffic the engine cut out again. I started it back up no problem gave it some Revs, went to get second gear and it cut out again.

Does anyone have any idea what might be the issue, I had a Ford Service a few weeks ago and they did not detect any issues.

I was also considering the fact that maybe I held in the clutch too long whilst rolling along?

Anyone got any ideas?

By the way loving the Focus.
