HenrikH29
Wife's got a new Titanium 1,4 petrol. However she thinks her Peugeot 206 1,4 petrol (2002 model) had better acceleration. Comparing specs. the Fiesta should be quicker, but thats not her impression. The dealer says the Fiestas acceleration and mpg will improve after the first 3000 km. Anyone with experience on the acceleration improving when its "run in" ?
b1g_dav3
You gain BHP from running it in, so you get more acceleration as time goes on. Reason being everything gets run in, my diesel is quicker than it was when I first drove it and gets 10mpg more minimum. Currently on 64 mpg. poshpawsfiesta
i think the 1.4 16v 206 has 90bhp and the fiesta has 96bhp but remember the fezza is considerably heavier and fiesta will be mapped for economy rather than speed, my step dad has a 55 plate corsa 1.2 sxi and he had a small accident and got given a enterprise 1.4 corsa sxi brand new about a year ago and he said his 55 plate 1.2 was alot faster. PumpkinSteve
I think the Fiesta has long gearing, which makes it sluggish. Mine certainly doesn't feel like a 1.6.
b1g_dav3
Yeah it's geared pretty long, which is why it reallllllly needed a 6th gear :/
HenrikH29
Her 1.4 8v (i think) 206 only had 75bhp model 2002. Well hope it gains more bhp / acceleration. We did consider an 1.6 but it costs way much more here in Denmark due to registration-taxes.
