Problem With 6000 Cd Radio

Featured Replies

I have a 2006 ford focus with the 6000CD radio. i have an issue with the volume, everytime i turn on the radio the volume goes to an automatic level. is it possible to fix this so that the volume when i turn the radio on is the same as when i turned it off?

i've checked the manuals in the car and messed around with the radio controls and still i cannot find out how to fix this.

can anyone help me?

i have uploaded a picture below of the radio incase of confusion.

thanks

had this radio in prev Focus cant say i had same problem What volume do you set it too and what volume does it go too when you turn it on.

When you look through the Menu do you come across a option called AVC. Again this option seems to stick in my mind If you find it set it to 0 AVC stands for Automatic Volume Control

Usually when you turn on the radio it will be the same volume as when you turned it off.

If you have AVC set to a high value above 0 then you may find that it will automatically kick in even when stationary.

AVC should only make a difference when moving as it's supposed to increase the volume to overcome road noise at speed.

Try setting AVC to a maximum of 2 and see if that makes a difference.

Yeah I have tried that but the volume still comes on at level 5. If I turn it off at a level higher than 5 like 7 for example it then comes on at 7 or whatever level I turned it off at but only if it's over 5. Anything below 5 and it comes on at 5.

yeah it must just be a problem with the avc or the radio itself.

thanks anyway.

Try disconnecting the power to the radio, that should factory reset it, make sure you have the radio code before disconnecting.
