De-Cat Focus?! Mot?!

Featured Replies

Hi New To Forums. Looking for some advice really for any mechanics out there!

Focus went in for MOT today, failed as there is not CAT on the exhaust. Fair Play. Its a whole custom system.

Issue is previous owner has also changed the manifold? Didn't know this had been done.

What do I need to do to get a CAT back onto the system for MOT?

Can I just buy a normal manifold and CAT 2nd hand, or is it a bit more complicated as the whole system was custom built?

Any Help would be appreciated

Thanks

Ben

Hi Ben, try and get a second hand normal manifold from ebay or a car breakers, getting a second hand cat could be hard, a new cat would be best, a lot depends on how much money you need to spend..fitting it on the other hand to a custom kit, you could face poblems, think along the lines that you may need most of a standard exhaust and just keep the back box.. you could be lucky and the cat fits
