Hi, First Post, Looking For Advice

Featured Replies

Hello all.

I bought my first car on Monday, a 2005 Fiesta Flame 1.4.

I'm wondering a couple of things, since i dont have the drivers handbook.

How do I change the clock and how do i use the trip counter? The clock is currently an hour behind, and the trip counter stays at 000.

Also, it works beautifully still but yesterday the engine warning light came on after leaving a petrol station. I immediately suspected i hadn't refit the fuel cap fully, so I refit this at the end of my journey. I also checked my oil level at the same time and it was dangerously low, below the minimum, so I topped the oil up immediately. I expected the engine light to go off after refitting the fuel cap, but it's still illuminated. Is this something I would need to get turned off manually once it has come on, even if I rectified the problem? Or could i be looking at bigger problems here?

Anyway, i have a friend coming over later with his OBDII reader, hopefully that will tell us the problem. If not, i'll be taking it back to the seller tomorrow and have him get it looked at.

Thanks for any feedback/information.
