Came to start the car (2001 focus saloon)no problems but after driving for about 2 mins i noticed the red alarm light still flashing wasnt causing any problems and it went out on its own.Is this something i should worry about?

    does sound like something up...has it done it since? could be just a random comms fault.

    from what i understand the light should go off and stay off when the engine is started.

    whilst typing it could be worth it to replace the battery in the key.

    I think its something to do with your remote fob. Either the battery is on its way out or there is a problem with the way its programmed.
