Fiesta Mk6 Intermittent Wiper Problem

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a 53 Plate Fiesta Flame 1.4 Zetec. A while back the intermittent wiper function on the front started to play up. The wiper would go up but not return in the same motion. It would go up, stay, and then come down in the next click. Sometimes the wiper would even stop halfway down my windscreen. The fuction where you pull the wiper stalk down is the same. I.e if i pull the stalk down the wiper blade goes up but then stops in the verttical position. It only comes back down if i keep the stalk pulled down. The other functions work fine.

Today i have located the relay in the fuse box for the wipers. I placed another relay (that was also in the fuse box) in the place of the wiper relay and the problem is still there. So i presume the problem is not down to the relay.

The only other things i can think of are either the Wiper Stalk or the Wiper Motor.

Can anyone please help me as its really getting on my nerves and i like to get it sorted before this cracking weather says goodbye.

Thanks

Ian

1st thing i would say is sounds to me as if the blades are sticking. Prehaps not

The wipers seem to work ok on continuous mode correct??

Have you tried them when you put some washer stuff on the screen to seeif they stick
