Rear Speakers And Installing Sub

Featured Replies

Ive decided to add a sub an amp to my mk7.But from searches it is not mentioned what colour the rear speker wires are.

i have the base model mk7 with only 4 speakers and have from searching the forum, think i have found the rear speaker block.I located this in the B pillar at the bottom next to the seatbelt it was wrapped up in some thin padded foam glued there doing nothing.I have attached pictures so those that have done the install no exactly if it is for the rear speaker passenger side.

Cheers.

Oh and forgot to mention where is everyone wiring up the remote wire to with the stock head unit?

hello mate ive got a mk7 to and have a sub in the back bit of a pain but just find an ignition live on the connector block on the back of stereo its one of the thicker leads so to test just pop the wire for amp(remote) on one of the big wires turn ignition on then if amp light comes on u have the right wire then turn off amp shud go off =)

Thanks for the reply shane appreciated.Where your speakers live or did you have to have ford activate them?

mine are dead no power there and ive been to to ford dealers today and they didnt have a clue what i was on about regarding the rear speakers and activating them.

Just regarding doing this install on my car.

After taking my stereo out useing titaniumsteves removal guide which is a pain in the bum

and is not easy to say the least, after getting the circuit tester on my wires i found my remote wire and it is not blue and is nowhere near as thick as his, mine is blue and purple and the same thickness as the speaker wires but is in exactly the same place as steves blue wire and every other wire is exactly the same other than this remote wire.I wouldnt have a clue why this is but my stereo is the basic model with no bluetooth or any other futuristic rocket propelled gadgets.Thought i would mention this just incase some of you do this mod and find out there is no blue wire there but a different colour.

So the install is done and now its a matter of ford to activate my speakers or some kind person with the hardware and software to do it.(Dont fancy flying to Aus do you nath for a day ;) )

I thought you'd never ask! :P Gotta tie it in with the people that want me in Norway, Italy & Portugal though!
