1.25 Exhaust System?

Featured Replies

Hey, i was just wondering if there was an aftermarket exhaust system for my fiesta 1.25 Edge. Would one for the 1.6 model fit or is the bore size different ?

What do you want a back box, right the way through or just a tip? There's plenty of choice

Hi

I thought the pipes on these exhausts were the same size these days

With the exception of the Fiesta Metal or Zetec s

I would of thought it was all to do with the exhaust port and Exhaust valve size (through flow of exhaust gasses)

The Exhausts on the last two versions of the fiesta have been more notably raspy of late which points to them being free flowing anyway

Jamie

Hi

The zetec s doesn't have exhausts poking out so to speak, its the same as what yours would be - under the bumper pointing down. The Metal & S1600 have twin pipes sticking through the back bumper but they are a different set up from the box backwards ie they're wider pipes. Which is what helps towards the increased performance. There are after market packages for Fiestas - monotune performance kits but I'm not sure if they only work on 1.6 models. They up the bhp add chrome tail pipes and styling on the car

There may be others out there, someone on the forum will know :P

Cheers

Marc

How about an aftermarket back box :-)

It could also depend on what type of soundproofing wadding they put inside as this can muffle the exhaust note

Jamie

Just the backbox ranges from £40-£60 but there's a bit of DIY work involved as ford exhausts are usually one or two pieces, If you want a raspier sound and a bit of increased performance, replace the mid box with a bog standard pipe and put a new back box on, Tail pipe comes with the back box, Most back box kits come with new clips and rubbers but if its made for your car then the old ones will suffice. IF you've got a bit more cash lying about, I'd recommend getting a tubular system, easy to fit too, the backbox and mid box a little harder because welding is involved. what Mk is it too?

Hope this helped
