Usb Stick Mp3S Fade Up With New Fiesta

Featured Replies

Wonder if anyone can help or offer suggestions please. At the beginning of April I swapped my 09 plate Fiesta 1,6 Diesel Titanium for a 2012 Ekonetic Titanium - all good with the car, but there is an intensely annoying quirk with the stereo.

I listen to MP3s contained on a USB stick and had no problems in the old car. In the new car (with the Sony DAB system) when I do this I get a wierd problem. At the start of each track the first couple of seconds will fade in, whereas on the old car each track played at the appropriate volume from the start.

Anyone else have any experience of this? Its very odd and incredibly annoying - give you an example - the crashing chord at the start of A Hard Days Night, or the Feedback into into I Feel Fine are runied by this. There seems to be no setting that I can alter to remove this, and I'm left wondering if this is some bizarre "feature" that Ford and Sony thought would be "helpful"...

I'm aware that there is a firmware update available but presumably my car - ordered in the middle of Jan 2012 and delivered in the first week of April is up to date (will try this in a couple of days anyway)

Love to know if anyone else has such problems - yes I could use my iphone but this is an almight faff compared to the simple beauty of the USB stick which was so reliable in the old car

Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions :)

I'd also love a solution to this, it cuts off the end of each track with its fade-out. 2012 Mondeo Zetec playing from USB stick.
