2006 Ford Fiestra

Featured Replies

Hi,

Not sure if I am putting this in the right bit, but guess I have to start somewhere so sorry if its wrong

basically I have a 06 plate ford fiesta that has started doing some crazy electronic things, telling me doors are open handbrakes are on, speedo sweeping up and down. Had it into a garage and they say its the ABS control module.

Now I have done some digging into this part, is it a simple case of unbolting the faulty one and replacing with the new one ? and also where on earth is it located on the fiesta ?

Any help would be great

I wouldn't have thought an ABS module would do what you're experiencing, but the ABS module is located on the nearside behind/ below the battery and it not a bolt off bolt on job, you will need to bleed the brakes very well, preferably with the Ford ABS service bleed function on IDS. Do you have any fault codes? I would be looking more at wiring - possibly loose earth or loose connector somewhere.
