Rear window bolt cover help

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My first posting as a new member!

Just a quick question - I am doing up a 'new' (old) 2002 3 door MK4 Ford Fiesta and bought new replacement rear window bolt covers similar to these:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-Fiesta-rear-win...%3A1|240%3A1318

I prised off the old ones yesterday using a small flat head screwdriver but am having no luck fitting 4 of the total 6 I need to.

So far i've tried pushing them on with my thumbs, heating them, oiling then, hitting them with a padded wooden mallet.....and no luck.

They are definitely the same size as the old ones (which were really rusted after 8 years) and i'm guessing there is just a 'knack' to fitting these back on...without breaking the glass!

Can anyone help advise me how to fit these back on?

Cheers for any help in advance!

Anders

Hi

Did you manage it in the end ...only i'm having the same problem. Haven't even managed to get the bolts off yet. The bolt covers I have are threaded ...but from what you say they pop off?
