2.0L Tdci 'jumpy'

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have a 2006 2.0l TDCI Focus Ghia with 82K and regularly serviced . My problem is not on the motorway at high speeds but around town doing 30mph. If it was a petrol engine I would say that it sometimes 'fires on 3'. My local independent garage has run tests and it's showing no faults. And of course didn't play up on the day they had it. They did a re-gen on the emission system anyway but it hasn't cured it. I've tried a diesel additive ( Forte ) because it felt as if there was some kind of gunge build up - but still no difference. If I floor it I get good acceleration and the problem disappears. Any thoughts ??

Thanks in advance

it could be a gummed up egr valve, i would remove and clean the valve and see if things improve. this will only cost spanner time and some cleaner.
