58 Reg Focus 1.6Tdci - Wind Noise At Front

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Does anyone have the same issue as me?

When getting up to 60mph or above there appears to be a fair amount of wind noise coming from both the drivers and passanger front doors?

It is almost like there is a gap in the door rubber, but I cannot seem to be able to find it.

Asking if anyone else has this problem, as do not want to replace door rubber only to find its not that!!

Cheers

I have a 58 reg Focus, no wind noise at speed, you definitely have a problem. :( Check the windows are closing all the way up.

Cheers. Windows definatly up fully, doors all line up well. It's doing my head in!!

It seems like its coming from the front of the door by wing mirror.

I cannot 'feel' the wind coming in, just the noise.

Looks like I am going to have to get the masking tape out. :(

My parents have a focus and there's a black plastic panel on the outside in the A frame of the window. Ie next to the wing mirror and from time to time it wiggles itself loose and when you're driving it whistles as the wind is being deflected elsewhere. You need to give it a bang to nudge it back into place every so often. This may be the cause?
