Dizmoo
Hi I need your help again!! ( I'm a woman so that kind of explains things lol) Anyway, I'm about to buy a Zetec S and I'm trying to work out the best way to go ..... Petrol or diesel. I'm into cars and driving ( I have a Porsche as I weekend car!!) and I'm just coming out of a long relationship with a Land Rover discovery 3. I'm now a single mum looking for something that floats my boat, which is economical but after having a Land Rover, anything is. I want a Zetec S but not sure about petrol vs diesel. Can anyone offer me their thoughts and differences on these two cars. Am I right in saying the petrol has 5 gears and the diesel 6? What sort if performance issues is there with Eco boost and non Eco boost versions??? Help!!!! Thanks
NorthSussex
Go for a diesel if you do over 12k per year, if you don't, then get the new Ford petrol engine with a turbo, these are great on performance and are very economical to run.
.Ryan
What size engine are you looking at?

.Ryan
I have the 1.6 Petrol Zetec S, if you do go for this try and get the 115bhp version :) it's very nippy.
Lenny
Ive got a 1.6TDCi very happy with it
Preee
I have the 1.6 100bhp , tbh the power is not good , but then i'm not racing around so having nothing to prove :) If your a town driver i would get a petrol , motorway then Diesel. If your going for the new Model then the 1.6 is a 125bhp and the eco boost is 150bhp and the New ZS is 180 bhp although no real torque difference between the top two. Happy hunting which ever engine you get you won't regret the Focus its a cracking car
.Ryan
Happy hunting which ever engine you get you won't regret the Focus its a cracking car I learnt in a Focus, driven a few cars at work and had the Mk6 Fiesta, there is just something about the Focus that I can't see me wanting to leave for a very long time :)
Paul Zetec-S
I have a 1.6 TDCI 115BHP and it is very quick and I can also get 60mpg when really trying!
.Ryan
I have a 1.6 TDCI 115BHP and it is very quick and I can also get 60mpg when really trying! I've driven the 1.6 TDCI and I must say I do prefer that engine as opposed to my 1.6 petrol :/
cuke
Hi, I'd try both if I was you and on a extended road test if you can. Personally, after having driven both, the 1.6 ecoboost 150 is far better and has very mpg. If it's the 180ps then it will be even better. BTW, I get 36mpg from mine around town and can hit over 50mpg on a long run. Plus petrol is much cheaper... Chris
