Keith Parko
I'm after a focus diesel. I Iiked the efficeincy of the 1.6 but was warned off the french engines and advised to go for a 1.8 or 2 litre. Which one is best for me? I do about 18000 miles per year with plently of long runs. In the 2006/07 period would the 2 litre CDTI titanium be french or ford and would it have a dpf? Stoney871
The only Ford engine in the range is the 1.8 and does not have DPF. The 1.6 and 2.0 are Peugeot engines and have DPF.

oilburner79
Go for the 2.0 it's a much nicer engine faster and better on fuel the 1.8 is awful and should have stayed under the bonnet of the 1989 Escort where it belongs. Not all 1.6s or 2.0s have a DPF
Stoney871
The point is Keith does not want a French engine ergo the 1.8. The 2.0 is a terrible engine and definitely has DPF.

Loz Cheung
I werent a big fan of the 1.8 i have to say, its a bit old school compared to the frenchies in my opinion! But thats what you get if you want Ford :)
