I'm after a focus diesel. I Iiked the efficeincy of the 1.6 but was warned off the french engines and advised to go for a 1.8 or 2 litre. Which one is best for me? I do about 18000 miles per year with plently of long runs. In the 2006/07 period would the 2 litre CDTI titanium be french or ford and would it have a dpf?

The only Ford engine in the range is the 1.8 and does not have DPF.

The 1.6 and 2.0 are Peugeot engines and have DPF.

secret.gif+1 go for a 1.8TDCi

Go for the 2.0 it's a much nicer engine faster and better on fuel the 1.8 is awful and should have stayed under the bonnet of the 1989 Escort where it belongs. Not all 1.6s or 2.0s have a DPF

Im confused, I thought the engines were volvo engines :P

Had I know it was French in any way I might have had to rethink the car before I bought it :P

id go for the 1.8 wich i did :). asked a mechanic friend of mine he said they were bulletproof engines and so far it has been.

90 thousand miles and ive replaced a turbo hose thats it. although i dont know anyone personally with a 2.0 so cant realy put them down.
