Mk7 Bonnet Issues

Featured Replies

Whenever I open the bonnet to check fluids etc, for the next day or so I keep getting a warning saying the bonnet is open, even though it can't close any tighter unless I jump on it!

This also seems to be tripping my alarm as the car thinks the bonnet is open when not.

Any ideas where the bonnet switch is?

i'm taking back to my dealer to get it looked at but wondered if anyone has any ideas?

Allan.

If the switch is connected to the bonnet catch, try putting some WD40 on there incase the catch is sticky?

Hi, had the same problem with mine. Disconnected both electrical connectors on the bonnet catch, sprayed liberally with wd-40 and replaced. Cured the problem in 10 minutes.
