Mk7 Mud Guards

Featured Replies

Hi all,

i have bought some front and rear mud guards (15 pound of ebay, bargain) for my fez and have sucessfully put the front pair on, with a strugle and a few tears for scraching my paint work, only minor no one can see so its not to bad. managed to screw them in and are tightly in place.

i have started the rear ones and them dowel things are such a pain to get off, i am pulling so much all i am doing is loosing the sheet around the arch that is attached to these dowel and bending and losening the clip/dowel things. i think i have losened them as in started to break them, does any one know if there is any tricks on how to get these out in order for me to attach the guards.

i have tried so hard i have cut all my hands, not very happy.

any help work be appriciated :-)

Luke

When I put my mudflaps on my Fiesta, I used a flat screwdriver to get underneath the clip a tiny bit, then some long flat nosed pliers to pull them out.

I must say £15 is a bargain! Mine were £45!

i tried that last night and it started to come a little bit so i got the pliers and pulled and it never come out, i just pulled the pastic off the end so its rounded lol and pulled the cover bit they are attacted to. did you take the tyer off or leave it on?

yeah wasn too bad. trying to do little mods to my car. thinking of getting some DRL's for the car from halfords but trying to hold off too till octiber becuase i dont want anything voiding my warrently. it runs out then.

got my self a personalised plate the other day so be puttig that on it soon. starting to look a litte better now. dont want to olter it to much becuase i like the factory look in stead of a modified look

Luke

Ooh, I think that might have been what happened with a couple of them. I found it easier to take the tyre off as it gave more working room!

Nicee, I'm thinking of DRL's as well. I don't want to do anything massively major to change the look as I quite like the factory look as well.

Ooh! Personalized plate! As much as I'd love one, I can't justify spending that much on a plate.. yet :P

pain in the but. will be trying again on tuesday but taking the tyre off this time lol.

id love the ford DRL's but i cant justify spending £350 they are asking for them. when halford for a total of like £40 will fit them to the bottom of the lights. dont really fancy having a large hole cut in to my bumper either lol.

well, it was only £255 so it wasnt to bad to be honest. i dont see how people can spend £££ on plates, money to burn they have lol

My local Ford were quoting 295 for the Fiesta Centura DRL's but even THAT is ricockulously priced.

it is terrible the price they quote. it like i queried about front and rear parking sensors, color coded and they quoted over £800 i was like your having a laugh mate, not spending that to hear a beep the closer i get to a car lol, when i can just get out and look hehe.
