Help In Fitting Replacement Mk 6 Fiesta Mirror Please.

Featured Replies

Hi Guys.

I need to fit a new near side Electric folding mirror to a Mk 6 Fiesta. The current one will not close (just makes a buzzing noise when trying), so i'm presuming the motor is faulty.

Has anyone got any instructions or a guide to replacing this please ?

Don't wanna get ford to change it as they charge stupid money.

Also do i need to buy JUST the motor or the Whole assembly ?

Thanks in advance.

Danny.

Hi its the whole mirror you change. there is a trim inside the door which is triangular in shape remove that and there is a couple of 10mm (I think) bolts remove them and unplug electric connector and hey presto mirror off reverse the process and hey presto mirror back on. Will take you 15mins max (PS The stupid money as you put it is because we know what we are doing)

Are you sure the mechanism isn't just jamming? It may be worth oiling it first before paying for a new mirror.

If you do change the mirror don't drop the bolts.

I did on a MK1 Focus and it went down into the door, I had to remove the door panel to retrieve it.

Suffice to say the next time I had to change a mirror, I put thread around the bolt so I could fish it back out more easily if it slipped again.

Cheers guys.

Stoney871, i'll take off the mirror via the bolts tomorrow and oil it all.

Here's hoping.

Hi again.

I took off the Mirror & removed the glass (thx for the answer to that one Mondy).

Thoroughly oiled the motor as much as i could and if you gently push it closed, on opening the car, the mirror opens fine.

BUT it still wont close.it still vibrates and buzz's when tring to close it.

Motor knackered ??

If so, i know now how to replace it.
