What Does This Sign Mean? And How Do You Turn It Off

it looks like an engine lock of some sort. My battery was flat and I attempted a hill start and it didn't work because the battery was really flat. The sign then came on. Even when I put a new battery it was still on and the car is still not starting.

    immobiliser.?. possibly activated and not allowing you to start

    If its the picture of a car half covered my a lock i think it's the immobiliser but can't be sure
