Focus 1.8TDCi servicing, oil type

Featured Replies

Hi Guys/Gals,

I'm planning to service my 2003 Focus 1.8TDCi in the next couple of days, when in Halfords looking for oil the best they have is Mobil 1 0w-40 Supersyn turbo diesel oil, I know that Ford recommend 5W-30 semi synthetic but i've always used Mobil oil and i'm sure that the Mobil oil is a better grade of oil anyway.

Can anyone see any issues with using it?

Thanks,

Steve.

ford recommend 5-30 so i would stick to it as ford engines can be oil sensative.

As Mintalkin says I would only ever use 5-30 too. Ford engines can be very arsey with the wrong oil in.
