1999 Ford Focus Gearbox/clutch Problem????

could anyone please tell me if you know if my problem is gearbox or clutch??

well when im driving my focus its making a very loud whining scream and some times a loud screch? its still driving ok the car stalls if i try pull away from a stand still in 3rd? was told if this happens the clutch is good?

when the loud metal sounding whine comes if i dip the clutch then bring it up again it goes?

could anyone help please?

    sounds like a release bearing in which case a new clutch kits needed but ide take it to a garage who will look at that for free and give a diagnosis
