Engine Management Light

Featured Replies

Hi,

i have a fiesta mk5 zetec s and my engine management is on.

i have taken my car to the garage but they cant find anything wrong.... can anyone suggest anything that might be causing it? i have an induction kit on but i would assume that would not cause an issue,

cheers

liam

Hi,

It could be anything as far as i know if the engine management light is on it needs wiring up to a diagnostic kit at the garage this then gives them a code which states what fault it is.

The above was done with my mk 1 focus 6 months ago engine management light came on and the car was coughing, spluttering and stalling all the time.

Turned out to be the coil pack 40 quid later all sorted.

Sorry could'nt be more help but the management light could be many things. I would personally take it to a different garage.

Thanks

Matt

The garage should have had a code reader to give some indication where the fault is. If the car is running fine, it could just have been a blip in one of the sensors, and the fault needs clearing.
