Tinted Windows

Featured Replies

I want to get the windows of a Fiesta 2009 5door tinted.

How can I get them untinted in case of sale to someone who dislikes?

You just peel/scratch off the tint with a blade.

Agreed.

Peel off and then a good clean with spray to remove any stubborn bits and any residue.

Yuck, just what I thought.

Spent some time googling for alternatives. Found the site solarplexius.se.

They offer removable (additional) panes, delivered to UK, a set of 5 panes for

£ 117.

I am tempted to buy, but does anybody know these guys?

What do you mean yuck? Are you saying you now don't like the idea of window tints because it's a dark film over the inside of the window?

The results are fantastic and I see no point in spending extra money on new panes,

It also defeats the object of removing them for when you sell it & I guess with the film you could get away with not declaring on insurance as it peels off but with new glass you'd have to - which would then increase insurance

Having had a quick look on the solarplexius site i'm confused  they aren't new panels of glass to replace the existing windows, but some sort of self adhesive plexi glass that sticks to the inside of the existing windows the same way tinting film would, except this stuff has some weird tabs on the edges too that fit under the trim panels, as well as visible sticky pads that go on the inside of the car, if these have to go on the rear roll down windows, by the looks of it you won't be able to open them any more. Was also wondering why at the end of the installation video it calls you a !Removed!, by the looks of it it's swedish for end lol. See pictures bellow for what I mean.
