Focus Idle Problem When Stopping?

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I have a problem when coming to a stop, when I press the clutch down as slowing to a stop the revs drop down to about 500 then rise to around 1500 several times before settling, occasionally it wil stall. It will start up again without problem, power seems fine when driving.

Its a focus 2.5 1.8 duratech 2009 with 36k on the clock, any ideas?

It could be the idle control valve although it would be quite rare for one to go on a car with that type of mileage.

we had a similar problem but was on a vectra sri used to own, turned out to be a t/b issue with a chocked up butterfly and a blocked breather nipple. but with the millage of ur's i dont think thats the issue.... I have read that its normal in fords but yet again unsure about yours? could it be a maf sensor?
