Looking Into Changing To Fiesta

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, im normally in the Focus section, however due to a few changes im having to 'downgrade' so to speak. So im looking at selling my Focus and buying a newer fiesta. Think I will have roughly £5500 to play with, so its going to be hard finding something. Got my eye on a 2009 (New shape) at the moment.

Theres a few things I need to know first...

Im looking at anothe Diesel, and wanting the 1.6TDCi (Also wanting it to be Zetec) Are these fine for towing? Iv not seen a fiesta zetec with a tow bar fitted before... Do they do towbars to fit?

Its not going to be towed extremly heavy loads, just a couple of pitbikes and gazebo/tent etc on a small trailer.

Any advice much appreciated, what to look out for etc..?

Thanks!

You can tow on the Fiesta, from memory its only 750kg for the 1.6 TDCi though.

I think thats right, And im only allowed to tow up to that weight because of my age. As said, weight isnt an issue, the trailer is less than 200kg's and the bikes are around 65kg's each, gazebo and tent are probs no more than 20kgs.

Just wanted to check as iv not seen one with the zetec body kit fitted with a towbar before.

That standard Zetec will be fine, but Zetec S, or a Titanium with dress up kit may be an issue, I don't know.

Sorry, the one im looking at is a zetec S. If anyone can confirm if you can fit a towbar without butchering the tow bar would be much appreciated.

I have seen a few fiestas with towbars, mind you only zetec models, and they have had a small piece cut out of the rear valance, so i would imagine a similar thing would have to be done with a zetec-s, but im not certain.

Olly.

The car you linked to above is the Australian Zetec which is basically the UK Zetec-S but without side skirts.

Ok, thanks for the help.

So I assume the 'Fiesta towbars' Will fit all models, but the amount of modification to the bumper obviously changes for zetec/zetec s?

I was reading that the maximum 'braked' towing load is 750Kgs, dose anyone know Unbraked maximum towing load? I assume its less? (My trailer isnt braked).
