Clunky Change From 1St To 2Nd Gear

Featured Replies

I find that my gear change from 1st to 2nd and to a lesser extent from 2nd to 3rd and vice versa is a little clunky / jerky, even with the most delicate clutch control. Is anyone else's Fiesta like this? Changing between the highest gears is silky smooth and barely noticeable by comparison. It's not a big issue but it is a little bit annoying for a car that is generally very easy to drive in all other aspects.

It's already done 12k so I don't think it's a running in issue.

Just a Ford thing. They are known for their notchy gearboxes.

I personally like it, much better than the sloppy boxes you get in many French cars.

Yeah I have it to but I like it, at least you know the gear has gone in, you get used to it
