Aircon Bypass

Featured Replies

HIYA I HAVE GOT A 1.2 ZETEC FIESTA (X REG) I HAVE GOT WATER LEAK FROM THE AIRCON COULD SOMEONE TELL ME HOW I CAN BYPASS THE AIRCON ALTOGETHER PLEASE AS I DONT USE IT ANYWAY AND ALSO MY HEATER BLOWS COLD I ASUME THIS IS DOWN TO THE LEAK BUT DO REALIZE IT MY HAVE OTHER ISSUSE LOL

If your heater blows cold when it should be hot then that's another problem. The a/c pump can be removed and an idle pulley fitted. Water leaking from the a/c is just condensation from the compressor as the pipes get very cold

Cold when it should be hot could indicate a problem with the heater matrix or connecting pipes.

More likely your Heater Control Valve has gone as this is the most common failure on Fords (apart from their after sales service). Should be under £40 for a new one.

I would have thought a duff control valve would result in intermittent heater control not full loss of heat.

The solenoid either gets stuck open or closed, so you either have full cold or full heat. Sometimes the heater control panel behind the heater knob goes and causes similar problems. If it was a cable controlled valve you would probably never have a problem with them, but because they are electronically controlled they are always going. I fitted two on our old Puma and one on an old Ka plus a heater control panel on the puma.

thank you for your imput the problem lay with the heat control valve and was easily replaced and cheap £30 new i soon had the same problem with my 1.3 finesse as a hunch i brought another and hay presto it was the same issue so both fiestas are still on the road the air con pump is finished and making all kinds of ratles and nioses but not worth fixing i just pulled the conector off the swich so it carnt be used that car isent worth spending on to be fair and it only a runner to work as it dose this with no problems it be fine and when it stops running i will use it as spares for my finesse making a good fiesta out the 2

Glad you got it sorted and it wasn't an expensive fix.
