12 Days Out Of Warranty And Coil Pack Goes!!

Featured Replies

Hi there,

My 1.25 Zetec Fiesta 59 plate is just out of its 3 yr warranty (ended 31 oct) and i now find that there was water ingress to the coil pack. £220 to for new coil pack and spark leads and diagnostic check!

Had the car since january, no problems previous to this. Is this a common fault with Fiesta? where is the water coming from? should i kick up a fuss with them if it is a common fault??

Many thanks,

Mark86

Water can get through from around the washer nozzles, seeing as it's so close to th end of the warranty and the problem was most likely existing while the warranty was still running then maybe they could have knocked a bit off for good faith?

Hi,

They did give me 25% off the repair so i guess that is something, but is this a design fault, is it going to happen regularly..i shall be stressed every time it rains !!!

The usual fix seems to be to put silicone around the hole to seal between the washers and the bonnet.

I would assume you don't have sound proofing under your bonnet or an engine cover either then? These would help a lot.
