Not a major problem but a bit annoying. My 1.8 zetec focus is a bit rubbish at starting on a morning or when its been left for a while. It just coughs and splutters. It starts up no problem with a bit of gas on which i have to do and it starts first time after its been run for a while. Any ideas what will sort it. Would a service do any good? Cheers

    As suggested new plugs would help. Could also be leads breaking down.

    Since the problem seems to be with cold starting could it not be a faulty engine temperature sensor?
