Front Fog Lights

Featured Replies

Could anyone tell me an easy way to change the bulb in the front fog of a 09 plate Mk 7 ? The handbook, whilst fairly helpful with other bulb replacement, simply says refer to your dealer which is a bit ominous. Advice appreciated.

There is no easy way. Lol.

You can either take the splash guard off the wheel arch and fiddle from that side, or remove the headlight and go from there. Honestly, I'd go for the headlight route, this is how I've done mine, but then again I fiddle around with my bulbs non-stop, so to me it's second nature to remove it, and also it's usually off when fiddling with fog's anyway :P

If you take off the arch cover, I believe it's something like a 12mm nut, or a torx (don't have mine here to check, someone at Howard Basford thing's it's fine to take over a week to change 2 wheels), and then you should be able to do it with the bottom loose, with the wheel turned so you can get in (or removed if this is easy enough).

They always say refer to your dealer, they want the business out of you.

Alternatively, in my experience Halfords have done a decent job in the past, though this may vary with some people. This does cost a few bob though.

Thanks for that. I'll probably go the headlight route. I don't know if I would trust Halfords with that particular task. I know that headlight removal is a doddle on the Mondeo, two minutes at most and no tools required but the Fiesta will take a bit longer.

Flip out the caps from the clips on the front grill to the top plastic next to the light in question (2 clips should give you easy access), un-do the bolts, disconnect wires and then a strong pull on the headlight. Bit of a bind but nothing major.

Thanks guys. Very useful . Can't help feeling though that Ford have made it more difficult than it should be. Still, keeps the dealers busy I suppose.
