Help Please Before I Go Bald

Featured Replies

hi guys can some one please help because ford cant

the car is a 59 reg focus ztec s 2.0 diesel

it seems to drive fine but we keep getting the engine light come on and off

also some times esp light comes on and stays on until you turn it on and off

its been to ford and they dont know what to do the fault codes are

p120f

p0002

so far all they have done is changed the fuel filter but nothings changed next they want to change the fuel pump at £800 odd but not sure if it will fix it

so any help i will love you long time

cheers les

both are related to fuel flow and pressure, so the fault might well be with the pump but i would want an experts opinion before spending a fortune on it.

It could be a fuel pressure regulator

are there any diesel specialists in your area?

yeah one up by reading do you think thats my best bet then ?

i was hoping some one on here made have seen it before what do you think about the esp light?

cheers stef

You would be best off seeking the advice of a diesel specialist to be honest, but if it were me i would be probably gamble and see if there is a regulator available as a separate component for the pump.(the high pressure pump)

The esp light might be unrelated, i cant see why the 2 would be related?

its just the both started at the same time that why i think its related

ford told me the fuel and regulator are as one on mine and they are about £200 do you happen to know if thats true ?

not familiar with the 2.0 tdci so im not sure mate

pity your not closer i have a 2.0 ltr off the road which you could of borrowed the parts off to see if it was either or i do have a spare fuel rail with the reg on i might be able to loan you pm me if you want

It will only be a pressure sensor on the fuel rail not the regulator.
