Mw Radio Frequency

Featured Replies

Newly joined to this group..

Can anyone tell me why my MW frequency station is giving out hissing or crackling sound when i'm driviing? I just recently bought a Ford Focus Auto Zetec 2009, this is the first time i have experienced this in any car,

Help would be much appreciated,,

Many Thanks...

I've always experienced a poor signal quality on MW. That's in all cars I've owned and that's a lot.

This is the first for me, owned others and they were fine even on a P reg ford escort, hearing that some of these latest ford focus have these problems..😡

IMPE I have never had a good signal with the MW wave! Its a bit of a surprise to me that you have seen a good signal on it

The MW is very sensitive to RF distortion, plug caps used to be fitted with supressors to reduce this (not sure if they still do).

I found i had a whining noise which increased with revs when I fitted a non standard aux cable to my stereo so I sourced and fitted ferrite core supressors on the wiring to my stereo and cured the problem.

Plenty available from eBay.
