I don't think it would work well, if at all, the RS mk1 is turbocharged so is tuned totally differently to a NA (Naturally Asperated/ non-turbo) engine

High lift/ duration cams can improve top end power/ revs (in an engine with the right exhaust/ throttle bodies etc) but can reduce bottom end/ midrange, which may make the car slower in some situations (eg put a "hole" in the bottom end making it slower off the line/ out of bends etc)

The (NA) ST170 has variable geometery intake trumpets to help boost bottom end power, and still have good power at the top end

Seems like a lot of hassle / cost for potentially little gain - what is the conventional tuning route for your engine?
