Hi there, i have recently purchased a brand new 1.25 ford fiesta style. i brimmed the tank from empty and have just tipped over into the red, however i have only done 255miles (urban), which figures out roughly 28mpg, i have been driving the car sensibly, and was expecting closer to 40mpg (urban), do new cars use excessive fuel until its been run in? was also wondering if other new users of this model fiesta could tell me roughly what they were achieving out of their first few fuel consumptions?
