Mk 6 Fiesta Zetec S Rpm

Featured Replies

Hi guys I'm new to this so I thought i would have a go at my 1st post here goes

I recently brought a 07 plate zetec s petrol brilliant little car, as i had a fiesta 1.25 before I thought i would get a car with a bit more grunt. I'm looking for advice really and to put my mind at ease. When I'm going down a dual carriage way or cruising at 70mp my rpm is at 3500 and if i go to 80 mph the rpm reaches 4000rpm is this right? It just sounds like the engine is going to explode on my speedo the rpm needle seems to match the mph needle at high speeds. If anyone could let me know if this is right or if it needs to be looked at I would really appreciate it thanks guys

My 1.3 runs at 3000 RPM when at 70 and nearly 3500RPM AT 80MPH so if yours is a 1.25 that should be about right
